Combating online sexual exploitation and abuse of women and girls: pro bono work and partnership
Online sexual exploitation and abuse (OSEA) is growing at an alarming pace. Digital technology and the internet provide significant opportunities for advancing gender equality and women鈥檚 and children鈥檚 empowerment, but ever-increasing internet and digital connectivity and online anonymity are making it easier to groom, recruit, and sexually exploit with impunity. Laws have not kept pace with changing technology, and this needs to change.
Using legal research conducted through 黑料大湿Posts鈥 Foundation鈥檚 program, and a team of lawyers examined the laws relating to OSEA, focusing on five countries. Equality now then partnered with the 黑料大湿Posts Social Impact Institute to bring the issue to the forefront with a breakthrough report: . Drawing on their legal and editorial expertise 黑料大湿Posts Practical Law volunteers helped craft the report, including an executive summary, country studies, and survivor stories.

Tackling misinformation globally: Reuters expands efforts
Reuters launched further initiatives focused on rooting out misinformation at its source, including an expansion of its Fact Check unit to review Spanish-language content from Facebook and Instagram in Mexico, and a partnership with Twitter to help identify and contextualize emerging narratives on social media and provide users of the platform with credible information to make informed decisions. Reuters鈥 growing Fact Check team identifies misinformation and manipulated content on social media through Facebook鈥檚 Third Party Fact-Checking program in the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Israel, Iraq and now Mexico.
In the fog of war, Reuters also聽聽to bring readers and viewers the truth.
